A Passionate Tale
This first blog is more of an introduction - be it to a love of motorcycling, the world of adventure riding and to meet your new blogger here at RideNow.
My name is Danell Lynn, and about four years ago I decided to start saving for an extended adventure - a solo year on a motorcycle in my home country. I had been to all 50 states as a child and teen and wanted to re-experience this in my 30's and on a motorcycle!
I don't believe in regrets and knew if I did not go, I would regret it, and thus I put all my stuff in storage and headed out to experience the back roads and scenic routes of the US and Canada on a Triumph Bonneville.
About 18 months ago I returned home from this wondrous endeavor. During the ride, I was able to squeeze in 3 Iron- Butt's, an AMA long rider and a Guinness World Record. I learned more about motorcycling and my possibilities out there on the road solo.
Traveling over 53000 miles and hitting all kinds of weather and roads it indeed took me for a ride. This was a grand adventure that leads to even more. During that journey, I took a pause to be the female rider in a dirt- bike documentary filmed of Cambodia, then last summer I was on the Expedition Electric team as we rode custom-built electric motorcycles from the Arctic Circle, Alaska and into Canada.
The Bonneville came out again for a 4000-mile colonial cities tour of Mexico this October with a group of 4 riders. It has been a blast to experience the world with no windows or doors, and I cannot wait to share the passion of riding with all of you.
One of the greatest things about riding is that you can always find new roads, always learn a new skill, adventure is around the corner it just depends on ifyou up for it. It truly is just about getting out there and riding. Evil Knievel said it best, "If I'm out trail riding, I have a favorite motorcycle. Riding on the road, I've got a favorite. If I'm jumping, I have a favorite, and if I'm racing, I have a favorite.
