Live Royally
Americas highest suspension bridge may be calling you, but did you know that you can drive across it on your motorcycle? Take a deep breath and don’t look down! The beauty that Colorado holds is unmistakable, yet there are still gems to visit down those dirt roads. Yes, it is a tourist destination, but it all fades away as you make your way across a bridge almost 1000 feet in the air. Talk about reminding you how small we are!
"Start your adventure at one of the highest and most famous suspension bridges in the world. Take in Colorado’s iconic natural beauty while standing 956 feet above the wild Arkansas River."
Royal Gorge Park is west of Canyon City and takes you through traversing roads down by rivers and up through the mountains. The ride to get there is spectacular all on its own. Keep your eyes open for wildlife and stop now and then to take in the magnificence of the natural world.
Once you arrive at the park, be sure to get there during the times for bridge crossing tickets so that you can ride the bike out there. Your general admission ticket also includes the Gondola, if you are afraid of heights; this one might not make your list. "Immerse yourself in 360° of Colorado’s natural beauty from the best seat in the state. Glide 2,200 feet across the Gorge, 1,200 feet high above the Arkansas River. Every angle showcases a unique view of the Gorge, Bridge, Park and the surrounding mountain ranges. Eyes will pop. Jaws will drop. Don’t blink!"

If you are from another state, add this into your journey through Colorado, for many, it is not a great distance but is a great site to see. There are many additions in the area that you can add to the adventure like white water rafting, wine tastings, helicopter tours or railway journeys, the options are endless. Be sure to check out some of the more unique stays for your overnight...there are great opportunities for hot springs and yurt stays! Let the open road call you, don’t keep letting it go to voicemail, answer the damn call! See you out on the road!
