Many enjoy the mud splashing, sand shredding All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) that is affectionately known as the Quad. Straddled like a motorcycle, ATVs continue to climb in popularity and here are the best-selling models of 2017.

Polaris Sportsman 450 & 570

The returning champ from our Top Ten 2016 list, the Polaris Sportsman continue its dominance in 2017.

The Sportsman series is the best selling 4x4 ATV of all time, thanks to it is reliability, performance and low starting point.

The 450 starts at $5,999 and is capable of just over 1200 lbs. of towing,

or upgrade to a true independent steering with the 570 for about a grand more.

Making the jump from outside of the top ten in 2016 all the way to 2017 is the Can-am Outlander 450 & 570.

Starting at $5,699, the outlander comes with selectable intelligent drive train, that allows the ATV to sense a wheel slipping and automatically transfer power to other wheels.

With a tow compacity of 1300 lbs. it is easy to see why 2017 proved to be a successful year.

Down one spot from 2016, the Raptor 700R still please the dune shredding enthusiasts.

Not meant to be at home as a ranch hand, this ATV strives to put smiles on adrenaline junkies faces.

Its big bore 686cc liquid-cooled SOHC 4-stroke redlines at 9000 rpms all for under $8,500.

Honda Rancher and Foreman

Also jumping into the top ten this year, is the Honda Rancher and Foreman thanks to its low starting price of $4,999.

Whether 4x4 or independent suspension, there are several models to choose from, allowing you to customize to fit your needs.

Leaping 3 spots from 2016, this little engine that could provides an approachable sport ATV that you won’t easily grow out of.

A 229cc air-cooled motor features Honda’s sport clutch and electric start; starting at $4,749.

Up one spot, the king of ATV racing provides an electrifying experience.

Polaris ACE 150 EFI

Designed more like a UTV (side by side), the ACE 150 is the industry’s first single seat youth model.

For kids 10 years or older, they can hit the trail with dad with safety features like a top cage, seatbelt, netting, and parent adjustable speed limiting. $3,799.

Dropping 4 spots doesn’t do this grizzly any justice.

It comes with a 708cc, 4valve, fuel inject motor coupled with Yamaha’s “Ultramatic” transmission. The CVT ultramatic provides a smooth, low rpm that keeps constant tension on the belt to reduce wearing.

Those looking for ranch transportation, rather than towing capability, the Brute Force 300 is there to please.

With its lower than competition $3,799 price tag, you get a 4 stroke motor, electric start, and an independent front suspension.

Can-Am Renegade 570 & 1000

Not many ATVs can say they come from a championship pedigree, but the Renegade can thanks to Bryan Buckhannon and Kevin Cunningham earning top spots in the Amsoil Grand National Cross Country Series Championships.

If you want to ride a championship mule, then you need to pony up, as the Renegade 570 starts just under $10,000.

But if your willing, you get a mud stomping ROTAX V-Twin motor capable of 48, 78, or 89 horsepower depending on the model you select.
